Amazon Launches Bedrock AI Service
• Amazon has launched a new AI service called Bedrock that will allow users to build out generative models from AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Stability AI and Amazon.
• The service also includes two new foundational models developed by Amazon Machine Learning called Titan.
• Bedrock provides API access to popular models such as Jurassic-2, Claude and Stable Diffusion.
What is Bedrock?
Bedrock is a serverless experience that allows AWS users to privately customize FMs with their own data, and easily integrate and deploy them into their applications. It provides on-platform API access to some of the industry’s most popular models such as Jurassic-2, Claude and Stable Diffusion.
What is Titan?
Titan is an offering from Amazon Machine Learning that includes two new foundational models developed by the company. Details are scarce concerning Titan at the moment but AWS Vice President Bratin Saha said that Amazon has been using “a fine-tuned version” of it to surface search results on the company’s homepage.
How Will This Affect Big Tech Competitors?
The launch of Bedrock poses a threat to existing Big Tech competitors such as Microsoft and Google, who have already invested heavily in generative AI technology. With near-ubiquity of AWS and its wide range of integrations and services, this could give Amazon an edge in the market.
Amazon’s launch of Bedrock promises to revolutionize the way we think about generative artificial intelligence models by providing users with powerful tools for building custom applications quickly while keeping data safe. With the addition of Titan, it seems clear that Amazon is ready to go all-in in this space just like Big Tech competitors Microsoft and Google have done before them.
